I felt the urge to write a little something on gratitude. Just a little bit of something. Maybe this will inspire you to write your own gratitude journal, to take in this wonderful, little evening ritual that might as well can change your life.
Express your gratitude every day and you will be living in abundance. This rings such truth to me; being able to be grateful for what you have, what you are doing, where you are going and who is surrounding you has massive impact on our every day lives. You will truly be living a life of abundance if you praise your gratitude to become an every day practise.
I write down my gratitude every day, actually; I write it down every evening, when reflecting upon the day and what has made me happy. Last evening, my gratitude journal looked like this:
I am grateful for my mom who is the most helpful, understanding and supporting woman I know.
Why: She supports me in what I want to do with my life; my dreams and my wanting to always do better.
I am grateful for going to Maastricht tomorrow, for the opportunity and for being able to follow my dreams.
Why: Because I want to live a life of always wanting to do better than yesterday, to always be aware of my own dreams and wishes and not be afraid to do what my heart tells me to do.
I am grateful for my routines: my healthy routines which I practise every day and which provides me with such energy, such calmness and the ability to turn my eyes to look within.
Why: The ability to look within opens so many doors that you don’t know you have; doors that opens into new doors and even more doors after that – and it just keeps going. I am able to “feel” myself, who I am, what I want and why and to find calmness within. That is a true and very special gift.
If you’re not already doing a gratitude journal, please do. It will widen your horizon, you will get to know yourself a lot better and you will start looking (more) at all the wonderful things and people surrounding you. Life is a gift, no matter how we live it. Happy Wednesday!
